Why Do Kachinas...?:
We offer both Hopi Katsina and Navajo Kachina dolls. Hopi Katsina
dolls are life like images or carvings called "TIHU". These are made to be
presented to the Hopi girls as an educational medium, to teach them about the
Hopi beliefs, customs, and ceremonies.
The Kachina has no religious significance in the Navajo culture. Navajo Kachina
makers and other craftsmen have borrowed from the other cultures for centuries
but do not always follow the techniques of the Hopi's. Use the search feature
and type in Kachina or Katsina.
The Hopi Indian Katsina doll is probably the most unique and
colorful of any Native Art expression in the world today.
