A250 - Ceremonial Peace Pipe - Artist: Damien Wolf - Description: This is a beautiful wooden shaft pipe. The bowl and mouthpiece of this pipe are made out of elk antler; the shaft is completely bound in tan leather and beads. There is a row of black beads, fourteen rows of red beads, two rows of black beads, and fourteen rows of light blue beads. This pattern continues for 7 ¼". Over the bead pattern you will find a button of elk antler and two brown and white feathers as well as two strips of leather with shotgun shells. Then there is a patch of tan leather, located in the center of the shaft. There are three bells at either end of the patch and there is a tan leather medicine wheel with wooden beads and a bell. A medicine wheel represents the never-ending circle of life. The wheel is divided into four section - - each symbolizing the four direction. The bead pattern returns for another 5". Then there are three locks of horsehair attached to the button of elk antler, which is near the mouthpiece. At the mouthpiece end of the pipe there is a tan leather medicine bag, tied shut with leather, a button of antler, and two gun shells. Hanging from the bottom of the medicine bag, are sixteen tan leather strips, with gun shells tied to the ends. There are 29 tacks pinned into the bowl of this pipe. When this pipe moves, a beautiful noise is made. This ceremonial pipe measures 47 ½" long and 21" wide. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
