K431 - Navajo 16" Tribal Ceremonial Dancer Kachina - Artist: R.C. Begay - Description: This Ceremonial Dancer Kachina reflects the costume of Navajo dancers dressed to resemble a bird. The Kachinas danced in a line in the plaza in the spring. The dance is one of rather monotonous stamping that is broken at intervals by some rather interesting turns and calls. This Tribal Kachina is exquisitely detailed, wearing full breast-plate, and dressed in suede, fur and feathers. The entire body is hand carved and painted to accentuate the realism of the dancer. This Kachina measures 16"H x 8"W X 5"D. It is securely attached to the base with wooden pegs, making it extremely sturdy. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
