K432 - Navajo 20" Tribal Ceremonial Dancer Kachina - Artist: H. Reis - Description: This Ceremonial Dancer Kachina reflects the costume of Navajo dancers dressed to resemble a bird. The Kachinas danced in a line in the plaza in the spring. The dance is one of rather monotonous stamping that is broken at intervals by some rather interesting turns and calls. This Tribal Kachina is exquisitely detailed. The full breastplate is colorfully hand beaded, as is the headband and belt worn around the waist of the dancer. The Kachina is fabulously dressed in genuine suede, fur and feathers. The entire body is hand carved and painted to accentuate the realism of the dancer. This Kachina measures 20" tall X 10" wide X 7" depth. It is securely attached to the base with wooden pegs, making it extremely sturdy. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
