This Kachina is intricately hand carved, replicating the authentic Hopi style. The Morning Singer Kachina, or “Talavai”, appears on the rooftops, singing songs and waking the people in the mornings. The green mask depicts the cloud symbol on each cheek. This Kachina is exquisitely posed holding a bell and spruce tree, as they did during ceremonies. This Kachina wears a characteristic red and white maiden’s robe, which is hand painted with elaborate detail. This unique Kachina measures 10” tall x 4” wide x 4” deep.
