K808 - Morning Singer Katsina - Artist: Cimmaron Grover - Description: Cimmaron Grover is one of the younger Hopi carvers with 10 years experience. He prefers to carve the old style Kachinas. He lives in Pollaca, 3nd Mesa on the Hopi Reservation in Arizona. This Kachina is a contemporary design uniquely displayed by each Native American Artist. This handcrafted artwork is an authentic replica carved entirely from a single piece of wood. Their personal attention to detail is astounding. This Kachina is designed after the Morning Singer who appeared and sang songs to wake the people of the villages. Its body and legs are carved out of one piece of wood and securely attached to the base. What is really unique about this Kachina is the long pole like legs that are hand painted with the colors of red, green and gold. One of the legs have what appear to be five Tadpoles which represent fertility. This Kachina measures 18” tall, 4” wide and 3”deep. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
