M220 - Navajo Skin Walker - Artist: LaNeAyo Census Number 365597 - This ceramic wall hanging depicts the image (the face paint, breast plate, etc) of the individual that the artist is describing, in this case the Skin Walker. Navajo legend describes Skinwalker as a witch who can change to animal form for the sake of harming others. It appears that all Skinwalkers are considered evil. The ceramic face of the Skin Walker is painted red and white with a black mask. It is decorated in designs important to the Navajo culture. His hair is made from horsehair and is not braided. The eyes seem very realistic and appear to be watching your every move. (His headdress is adorned with Cross Fox fur and Ermine pelts.)
