This creation is carved out of a single piece of reddish brown Alabaster stone. The detailed work on the face is so realistic. The Corn Maiden appears during the winter solstice ceremony. The primary ritual is conceived as helping to turn the sun back towards its summer path. The body is etched in a Native American style blanket. At the feet of the Corn Maiden a pot is carved out of the stone. The details in this piece are amazing and it would be a wonderful addition to any collection. This sculpture measures 7 ½” high, 2 ¼” wide, and has a depth of 1 ½”. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
