S338 - Alabaster Buffalo Pipe - Artist: Ben Livingston; 112 480 - Description: This is a beautifully carved pipe. Ben Livingston carves out of one piece of Alabaster rock. This cream-colored pipe has a Thunderbird etched onto the pipe's shaft. The eyes of the Thunderbird are small inlaid circles of Red Jasper. The bird also has a Turquoise and Red Jasper necklace. Attached to the bowl of the pipe is a carved buffalo. The detailed work on his body is so realistic. Located across both sides of the buffalo's shoulder area is an inlaid heart line. The heart line is made out of inlaid pieces of Turquoise, Red Jasper, Jet and animal bone. On the back of the buffalo are two brown feathers as well as three Turquoise and red beads. The horns of this beautiful creature are made out of Jet, and his eyes are made out of Turquoise. What is neat about this piece is his head is up with his tongue sticking out. His tongue is made out of Red Jasper. The details in this pipe are amazing! This pipe measures 4" high, 9½" wide, and has a depth of 1 ½". The pipe itself measures 4" long and the buffalo measure 5" long. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
