S340 - Alabaster Buffalo Sculpture - Artist: Ben Livingston; 112 480 - Description: This is a beautifully carved buffalo sculpture. Ben Livingston carves out of one piece of Alabaster rock. The detailed work on his body is so realistic. Etched into his back is a Native American chief's head. His eyes are small Turquoise, and he is wearing a Turquoise squash necklace. His headdress has 7 etched feathers. Underneath the chief are two brown feathers as well as three Turquoise and red beads. Located across the left side of the buffalo's body is an inlaid Kachina design. The Kachina is made out of inlaid pieces, Valley Blue Turquoise, Zuni Turquoise, Ajax Turquoise, Red Jasper, Jet and White Buffalo gemstones. The figure also has 2 Valley Blue Turquoise feathers on top of his head. On the other side of the buffalo's body are 2 inlaid bear paw prints. The paw prints are also made out of inlaid pieces Valley Blue Turquoise, Zuni Turquoise, Ajax Turquoise, Red Jasper, Jet and White Buffalo gemstones. The horns of this beautiful creature are made out of Jet, and his eyes are made out of Turquoise. What is neat about this piece is his head is down with his tongue sticking out. His tongue is made out of Red Jasper. The details in this piece are amazing! This sculpture measures 9" high, 11 ½" wide, and has a depth of 2 ½". The Kachina design measures 5" long and the paw prints measure 3" long. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
