W252 18" Painted Kokopelli War Shield - Artist: Ernest Gantner 210-392 - Description: THIS IS SOFT LEATHER, unlike most shields which are made of RAWHIDE. Shields were painted by Holy men and depicted the visionary beings and animals that provided them with mystic guidance. The power of the shield was evoked by its owner for spiritual and physical protection. The center of the design is a Ceremonial Kokopelli surrounded by teal colored native designs painted on soft brown leather. This War shield has a 18” circle with black feathers hanging from the bottom making the total length 38” long. This Native American creation comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
